PSYCHOTHERAPY OFFERINGS

  • Standard sessions are 50 minutes, and my goal is to make sure this time feels more like a conversation than an interrogation. Like a conversation, sometimes there is silence or pauses for reflection or emotion; sometimes we get a little interactive as we practice skills. Every client approaches this time differently and I aim to respect your agenda and the ways you feel most comfortable unpacking your experiences.

    Fees are fixed for the remainder of 2024

    90-minute initial intake session: $175 +hst

    50-minute subsequent sessions: $150 +hst

    Supplemental sessions:

    30-minute check-in sessions: $100 +hst

    90-minute extra-support sessions: $175 +hst

  • Walk-and-talk sessions are available by request. These sessions are typically hosted in the Oshawa-Courtice area in a public park setting between May-October. This is an opportunity to meet in-person and practice skills that might be challenging to learn or perform virtually.

  • Art therapy sessions are available by request. These sessions are for adults looking to tune into their subconscious through creative mediums like drawing, painting, and collage. This approach can be especially helpful for individuals who struggle to articulate their experience through language alone. Through artful self-expression, clients may come to develop new insights, heightened self-awareness and new coping strategies. Please note: you do not have to be an artist to participate in art therapy – in fact, it’s often best if a client has no formal creative training!

  • Home visits are available by request. These sessions take place in the client’s hometown or in a setting mutually agreed upon by both client and therapist with privacy and safety as the top priority. These sessions are ideal for clients who cannot travel for walk-and-talks and are requiring more interactive support or exposure therapy. Please connect with me for more information.

Free 20 Minute Call

Consults are free 15–20-minute phone calls. This is an opportunity to get to know each other better and see if we’d be a good fit. I’ll start by asking you a few questions about yourself and welcome any questions you may have about me and/or my practice.

Book Initial Intake

If we determine we’d like to work together, I’ll help you create an online profile on Jane App. Once you’re set up and sign the consent form, you’ll be able to view my schedule and book your appointments in your own time.

YOUR FIRST VISIT: WHAT TO EXPECT

Your first visit, otherwise known as an “intake session”, will help your therapist develop a general understanding of your unique experiences and presenting concerns. Intakes are 90-minute sessions that are structured like an informal interview. Here, you will be asked questions about yourself: your mental health; family history; relationship history; personal strengths; support systems; and your goals for treatment. Note: the client always has the choice to disclose as little or as much as they’d like. There are no obligations, nor are there expectations. We always strive to work at a pace that feels organic. Once your intake session is complete, we move forward with standard 50-minute sessions.
